DSCN5795-smFebruary 10, 2011 – Wow… I just realized it has been weeks since I have done an update on my blog. I am sooo sorry about that. I have just been so slammed with work and life in general. I did write a blog post a couple of weeks ago but I never published it. It was basically outlining a health issue that I am faced with right now (don’t worry… not life threatening) but then I decided that I didn’t need to burden anyone with that so it is sitting in my draft folder for now. Perhaps I will share one day but for right now, I will just hold off and only share the usual updates on the horses and other things that are on the go.

Okay… what to update you on first? I guess the horses. The poor things are not liking this cold weather. Frankly, neither am I! They are double blanketed and spending a lot more time indoors than out right now. But, they are calling for some warmer temperatures next week which I am soooo looking forward to. Will still need to dress warm but won’t need my battery operated socks :-). However, there is a tiny drawback… it will be a melting mess… lots of mud. But hey, I’m not complaining… honestly, I’m not ๐Ÿ™‚

DSCN6568-smBuddy and Megan are doing great. They are building their partnership more and more every day and figuring out what makes each other tick.ย  Of course though, with every horse, when you figure something out, another issue pops up that needs to be worked on. It seems that Buddy is loving his private lessons with Carole and the quietness of the arena when they are riding. However, he is now getting a bit distracted when he gets into a situation where there are a number of horses in the arena. We learned this at a recent show when he had a hard time focusing on his job. So, we plan to get him into a lesson program at a local farm and hopefully that will help him learn that he needs to focus and not worry about the other horses around him.

logo-whiteSo… did you see my new passion turned into a business venture? LOLย  As many of you know, I have been having a blast with my new camera and taking pictures of this, that and the other thing. Well, now I have a website up and running that offers my photos in a variety of different formats. From digital downloads to prints and even promotional and gift items. I am super excited about this and now just need to find the time to promote it. Would love to have you take a look and let me know what you think… http://shadyridge.smugmug.com.

So, the reason I am having trouble finding the time to promote it… my business is super, duper busy. I am not only keeping my current clients’ website and admin work up to date but I am also in the midst of designing a website for a local tack store, a farrier and working on a horse supplement site. I also have a couple of quotes to do… one for an up and coming horse farm that offers schooling shows and for a well known breeding farm. Plus a few other new things on the go. Phew… crazy busy but loving every single minute of it. I love the process of designing a new website and when they involve horses… all the better ๐Ÿ™‚

Hubby is busy too. Not only is the towing business busy but he has a website http://www.productsforhorses.com that is taking off like gangbusters. And, he is also a search engine optimization expert now so he is helping me and other people to ensure their websites do extremely well in the search engines which inevitably brings in more customers.

And to end this post (cuz if I don’t stop typing now I could be here all day updating you on what has been going on and I really need to get to work), I wanted to share with you the video we took of Buddy a couple of weeks ago. Instead of doing a lesson, Megan wanted to let him have some fun (not to mention, Carole was sick so she couldn’t come teach). So, we trailered over to Grangewood and she lunged him for a little bit and then just let him go lose in the arena. It took a while for him to realize that it was all about just having fun but eventually he figured out that it was a blast to follow Randy around and play with the big yellow ball. Enjoy!

That’s it for this time. I will seriously try harder to update on a more regular basis. No guarantees but I will try ๐Ÿ™‚

See you next time!
